“Approach each new day with desire to find Me.\u00a0 Before you get out of bed, I have already been working to prepare the path that will get you through this day.\u00a0 There are hidden treasures strategically placed along the way.\u00a0 Some of the treasures are trials, designed to shake you free from earth-shackles.\u00a0 Others are blessings that reveal My presence:\u00a0 sunshine, flowers, birds, friendships<\/strong>, answered prayer.\u00a0 I have not abandoned this sin-wracked world; I am still richly present in it.<\/em>”<\/p>\n

Let me tell you something, if you are looking for an amazing daily devotional, you NEED to have Jesus Calling<\/strong><\/em> in your possession.\u00a0 I do not remember when I was blessed with my hard copy of Jesus Calling, but I do know that from the moment that I was given a copy, it has blessed my life.\u00a0 I have since purchased the digital copy for my iPad, which makes it easier to travel with.<\/p>\n

The above devotional came from the May 23rd devotional, but has blessed me every day since.\u00a0 I think it was about a year or two ago, that I actually became more aware of the treasures that Daddy God would place in my path.\u00a0 You know how dumb we can be as humans; we become so distracted and consumed with day to day needs, that we completely miss what God has for us.\u00a0 I know for me, I tend to overthink things, like ALL THE TIME!<\/p>\n

\"\" This weekend, Daddy God blessed me with quite a few treasures.\u00a0 One of those treasures just so happens have been around a cup of coffee, and a pastry.<\/p>\n

This weekend, I had the opportunity to meet up with such a beautiful young lady.\u00a0 What’s crazy, is that this young lady used to be one of my students in my church’s youth group.\u00a0 I love how Daddy God has allowed me to see some of my “babies” grow up to be such beautiful people.<\/p>\n

I enjoyed walking down memory lane with her, but also seeing how much she has grown in our conversation.\u00a0 I loved how comfortable and very real our conversation was.\u00a0 What really blessed me, was the feeling I had when we went our separate ways; I could NOT stop smiling.\u00a0 My heart was so full!\u00a0 To top it off, the text message that came my way a few hours later for sure filled my bucket.<\/p>\n

Daddy God knew exactly what I needed, right when I needed it, even though I had no clue that I really needed it.<\/p>\n

Another treasure of mine happened to actually be centered around the Nike slogan – JUST DO IT!!<\/p>\n

As I stated before, I overthink things ALL THE TIME!!\u00a0 One of my “overthinking moments” happens to be with my taxes – stupid, I know!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On my list of things to do before I head out for Spain (25 days from today, to be exact!), was to get my taxes done.\u00a0 This\u00a0had\u00a0become such a big deal, for me, because where I used to be able to just drop them off for the people\u00a0to do for me free of charge, no longer was doing people’s taxes anymore (UUUGGHH!!).\u00a0This just meant that I was going to have to do them myself, but it just seemed like it was going to be so much work, and finding the time to do it was really out of the question.<\/p>\n

EVERYONE I would talk to about this situation would tell me that it shouldn’t be much work,<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

because it’s not like I have\u00a0much to have to file.\u00a0 Hearing that meant absolutely NOTHING to my “overthinking” brain, until last night.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It was after our Spanish service at the Dream Center, that I was talking with my sweet sweet friends about my situation.\u00a0 Both of my friends told me to JUST DO IT!!\u00a0 \u00a0They both told me\u00a0to just go home and get it done! I mean, when I thought about it, they had a point, and I really couldn’t tell you why hearing them to me to just do it, that it really hit home for me, but it did!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I went home, and knocked out my taxes!\u00a0 I mean, I did have a bit of a hiccup (I couldn’t find my last<\/p>\n

year’s tax papers for at least 20 minutes, mainly because of my own issues), but I got it all done.\u00a0 I’m pretty sure Daddy God sits in Heaven laughing at me – I laugh at me.<\/p>\n

\"\"Doing my taxes even encouraged mommy to get hers done as well. #WontHeDoIt<\/p>\n

Lesson I learned<\/em><\/span>:\u00a0 Stop overthinking things and JUST DO IT!\u00a0 If you never get started on something, you will NEVER see the change.\u00a0 Whether it be to forgive someone, a job change, escaping a terrible situation, forgiving someone, whatever it is – if you do not take the first step, you will remain where you are.\u00a0 It took me FOREVER (it seemed) to just take the step towards getting my taxes done, but when I finally did, it ended up not being anywhere near as “terrifying” as I was thinking it was going to be.\u00a0 And, check this out…I didn’t even have to pay!!!\u00a0 Filing both Federal and State was F.R.E.E!!!\u00a0 WON’T HE DO IT THOUGH!!<\/p>\n

My encouragement to you…<\/em><\/span> JUST DO IT!!\u00a0 It’s not as hard as it may seem!\u00a0 Get out of your own head, and just give it to God – I promise, He knows what He is doing.<\/p>\n
